Getting a Computer Virus
This morning before I came to class, I went onto my computer at discovered that one of my roommates had downloaded a file that had a virus on it, but didn't realize that there was a virus until after they had opened the file. Instead of following the onscreen instructions that Norton Internet Security provided, they told NIS to leave the file as is, leaving a virus on my computer. So after finding all this out on my own this morning, I tried running NIS to get rid of the virus, but by this point the virus had spread and corrupted too much and infected some registry files on my computer. So I went onto Symantec web site and used there database to help me fix this problem. As it turns out, I had the w32.Klez.HH and w32.sobig.hh viruses. So I went and searched Symantec online database that gives people step by step instructions on how to use the virus uninstaller. Unfortunately, this does not work with the severity of the infection that's on my computer. So I searched the Symantec database once again and found what registry keys theses viruses install onto my computer and proceeded to use these directions to remove the virus.

Making Travel Arrangements
As far as Information systems today that I have used, I have used a lot already this morning. Before class, I started off by going onto y computer and placing an airline reservation for me and my Fiance to go to Florida for spring break. By doing this, I used a few different types of Information systems. First, I used one that would help e determine the time and availability of flights leaving Burlington, VT. Making arrangements for the trip back as well. Then once I have decided on a set time and day to travel on and how any tickets I want to purchase, I then put in my credit card information that when entered do a lot. First, it identifies the credit card number with the institution that is extending e credit, then they match the card number to the name I entered on the order for to the name the creditor has on file, and when they match, the creditor sends a reply authorizing the transaction to be completed. Once this has been completed, the web site I purchased the tickets from, sends an auto reply acknowledging that I made a reservation and giving me a confirmation number for the transaction in case of any future problems that may arise.
