This morning before I came to class, I went onto my computer at discovered that one of my roommates had downloaded a file that had a virus on it, but didn't realize that there was a virus until after they had opened the file. Instead of following the onscreen instructions that Norton Internet Security provided, they told NIS to leave the file as is, leaving a virus on my computer. So after finding all this out on my own this morning, I tried running NIS to get rid of the virus, but by this point the virus had spread and corrupted too much and infected some registry files on my computer. So I went onto Symantec web site and used there database to help me fix this problem. As it turns out, I had the w32.Klez.HH and w32.sobig.hh viruses. So I went and searched Symantec online database that gives people step by step instructions on how to use the virus uninstaller. Unfortunately, this does not work with the severity of the infection that's on my computer. So I searched the Symantec database once again and found what registry keys theses viruses install onto my computer and proceeded to use these directions to remove the virus.
